Engage and enthral inside and out with these simple, yet versatile and creative, eco cones, that lend themselves to so many exciting learning possibilities. Suitable for ages 10 months and up.
From stacking, threading and sorting, to using in physical development activities, small world and construction play, you really can do so much with them. What will you create? Specifically designed for breadth of use and in subtle, earthy tones. Imagine them with your wooden blocks and natural materials.
We chose a bio material for its credentials and for its robust nature. Children will find endless uses for this collection. They are a fantastic addition to construction play as you can carefully balance and position them in so many different ways. They offer an alternative to the usual blocks and add a sense of challenge. The children can steadily and purposefully place them in certain ways to make all kinds of structures. Use them with a range of loose parts materials. They support an array of schematic interests as they can be lined up, stacked, nestled, positioned, rolled, etc. Use in baby and toddler areas, enabling the children to grasp, stack, nest and manipulate them. Perhaps they will be part of symbolic play scenarios. We tried threading them and made magical trees. This was also great for fine motor skills. They make super imaginary locations, such as forests and castles. Perhaps they will be spaceships soaring into orbit. They also made fabulous angels, fairies and winged creatures. Use in maths activities for sorting, comparing, ordering, patterns and sequences. How tall can you build them? How did you make your pattern? How many can you count? Use the language of size and preposition. They work well in messy play as they can be used in water, gloop and sand, etc. Try them for cascading water or as a sieve. They are easy to clean. Use indoors and out. Perhaps they will be part of a circuit to travel in and around, or for making pathways for the children to skip in and out of. Create a course for your remote control vehicles or robots. See them illuminated in the shadows when used with the projector. Place torches underneath. They can look like huge mountains. There really are so many possibilities, whether it is construction, with light devices, or in messy play, creative play, etc. The children’s imaginations can soar as sometimes the simplest designs offer the richer, widest opportunities.
